Dr Gianina Kui

Dr Gianina Kui is the Principal Dentist and Owner of Aylesbury Dental, and the clinic’s main clinician. A native of Romania, Dr Gianina qualified with distinction from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara (2005–2011). She began practising dentistry in her hometown, working in her own dental practice in Timișoara from 2011 to 2015.

After relocating to Dublin, Dr Gianina worked in several dental practices, building broad clinical experience before joining Aylesbury Dental, where she now leads patient care with a clear, professional, and patient-first approach.

Dr Gianina has a keen interest in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, supporting patients who want to improve both the function and appearance of their smile. Her clinical focus includes crowns, bridgework, and cosmetic dental treatments, as well as facial aesthetic services such as lip fillers. She is a current member of the Irish Dental Association.

Shirley Byrne

Receptionist & Dental Nurse

Shirley Byrne is a Receptionist and Dental Nurse at Aylesbury Dental, where she helps patients feel at ease from the first hello to the final follow-up. With experience in dentistry since 2001, Shirley is valued for her gentle approach, her ability to explain things clearly, and her naturally warm and friendly style.

In her role, Shirley supports a range of day-to-day patient needs — welcoming patients, assisting the team chairside, and helping appointments run smoothly. She often supports exams and scale & polish visits, and she’s especially passionate about making sure patients feel informed and reassured.

Shirley finds that many patients arrive assuming certain treatments — like extractions — can always be done immediately, but she takes the time to explain that the best next step is usually an examination first, followed by the safest and most appropriate plan for that patient.

Her approach is simple: be honest, be clear, and make people feel comfortable.

When she’s not at the clinic, Shirley enjoys spending time with her family, getting out for nice days, and holidays.

Teiksma Paula

Teiksma Paula is a Dental Nurse at Aylesbury Dental, where she supports patients and the clinical team across a wide range of appointments. With over 10 years of experience in dentistry, Teiksma is recognised for being fast and efficient, highly attentive to detail, and especially supportive with nervous patients and children.

Teiksma trained in Latvia (including Latvian University and medical college) and holds a medical certificate. In the clinic, she helps manage the day-to-day flow of care — from assisting chairside to supporting patient needs — while keeping the experience calm, friendly, and well-organised.

A big part of Teiksma’s approach is making sure patients feel comfortable and not judged. Many people worry they’ll be in pain, so she takes time to talk things through, explain what will happen step-by-step, and use real examples (and when helpful, visual examples) so patients understand their options clearly. Her focus is always reassurance: helping patients feel safe, informed, and looked after.
